Academic dishonesty constitutes any endeavours by a student to secure unfair advantage (for example, additional marks) for themselves or for fellow students through unauthorised means. The London Institute of Business Technology elucidates that examples of such dishonesty encompass collusion, deceit, plagiarism, and cheating in examinations, all of which fall under the purview of our comprehensive Malpractice Policy and Procedure.
Collusion is delineated as the deliberate collaboration, absent of official authorisation, between two or more students in the preparation and production of work which is subsequently submitted as individual effort. In instances where copying from one student by another is identified, it is conceivable that penalties may be imposed on all students implicated in the process.
Deceit refers to either the misrepresentation or non-disclosure of pertinent information. This includes the failure to divulge instances where work submitted for assessment has been or is planned to be used for alternative academic purposes.
Plagiarism, which is explicitly covered under the Malpractice Policy and Procedure, is defined as the appropriation of another individual's words, images, or ideas, presenting them as one's own without proper acknowledgment or citation. It is imperative for students to delineate clearly for readers the demarcation between their original contributions and the work of others.
Cheating encompasses any attempts to gain unfair advantage in an assessment (including examinations), or facilitating another student in doing so. This involves, but is not limited to: copying from fellow candidates, engaging in collusion, impersonating others, committing plagiarism, and gaining unauthorised access to examination papers prior to the examination.
The London Institute of Business Technology has a vested interest in preserving the esteemed reputation of its awards. Therefore, students are expected to cooperate actively in safeguarding the integrity of the assessment process. It is incumbent upon all students affiliated with the London Institute of Business Technology to uphold rigorous standards of academic honesty in their studies and to promptly report any observed instances of malpractice. Your adherence to these principles of academic integrity is obligatory and highly valued.

It is imperatively stipulated by the London Institute of Business Technology that, in the event of any disputes, controversies, or claims emanating from or in connection to these Terms, or in the instance of breach, termination, or invalidity thereof, the parties involved shall engage promptly and in good faith to resolve said disputes amicably.

In concurring with these Terms, users are binding themselves to submit exclusively to the jurisdiction of the Isle of Man courts concerning any dispute that may arise under or in relation to these Terms and Conditions, thereby forsaking any jurisdictional rights they might possess in other territories or jurisdictions.
For the removal of doubt and without circumscribing the generality of the preceding provisions, this clause expressly applies to disputes arising from or in connection with the interpretation, performance, breach, termination, or invalidity of these Terms and Conditions, as well as disputes pertaining to the existence, validity, or termination of the Terms themselves.
The London Institute of Business Technology retains the unequivocal right to effect changes or modifications to these Terms and Conditions at its discretion, at any given time and for any reason, without the requisite of issuing prior notice. By continuing to use the services, you signify your acceptance to be bound by such modifications, alterations, or updates and, as such, periodic review of these Terms and Conditions for any amendments is strongly recommended.

Should you transgress, violate, or fail to comply with any aspect of these Terms and Conditions, the London Institute of Business and Technology (LIBT) reserves the unequivocal right to initiate and undertake measures we consider suitable, necessary, and appropriate in response to your breach. The approach we elect to employ shall be determined by the severity and nature of the breach committed, aiming to address, rectify, and prevent further occurrences of such breaches, thereby ensuring the maintenance of a secure, respectful, and lawful online environment for all users.
Such remedial measures may encompass, but are not restricted to, the temporary or permanent suspension of your access to our website, thereby limiting or revoking your ability to utilise the resources, information, and services provided therein. This suspension serves as an immediate consequence of non-compliance with our stipulated terms, designed to protect the interests and security of our other users and our platform at large.
Additionally, we may impose a prohibition on you, effectively preventing you from accessing the website either temporarily or indefinitely, depending on the gravity of the breach. This decisive action would be taken to safeguard the integrity, functionality, and user experience of our website, ensuring that it remains a conducive and secure space for educational pursuits and professional development.
Furthermore, computers associated with your IP address may be blocked from accessing our website. This action may be broadened to encompass various devices and networks connected to your IP address, aiming to mitigate the risk of recurrent breaches and to uphold a secure and stable online environment.
In circumstances deemed necessary, LIBT may extend its communications to your Internet Service Provider (ISP), formally requesting their cooperation in blocking your access to our website. Such collaboration with external entities would be sought to enforce the restrictions imposed due to your breach and to foster a shared commitment to upholding digital security, lawfulness, and ethical online conduct.
Lastly, it is within our rights to instigate legal proceedings against you. The initiation of court proceedings would be approached as a last resort, sought in situations where your breach of the Terms and Conditions is of a severe or criminal nature, thereby necessitating formal legal intervention and adjudication to resolve the matter and prevent further violations.
This enumeration of potential actions is not exhaustive, and LIBT reserves the right to employ any combination of the aforementioned measures or other steps as deemed fit, in accordance with the legal framework and operational protocols guiding our institution, in response to breaches of our Terms and Conditions.
The London Institute of Business Technology (hereafter referred to as “LIBT”) hereby explicitly stipulates that it offers no guarantees, assurances, or warranties, either implicitly or explicitly, regarding students’ direct progression to a University Degree or Master’s programme following their completion of any courses provided by the LIBT.
For the avoidance of doubt, it should be clearly understood by all parties involved that a student’s potential progression to Degree or Master’s level programmes at university is contingent upon various factors. Such factors include but are not limited to the student’s specific circumstances, accrued and demonstrable experience within the relevant field of study, and the substance and quality of their application submitted for consideration to the respective university.
It is crucially important to note that any indication, suggestion, or implication of progression is confined solely to those institutions of higher education that are explicitly listed on the LIBT’s official website. Any university’s presence listed on our digital platform should not be construed or interpreted as an irrevocable or absolute guarantee of student progression. Instead, it serves merely as an indication of potential pathways that might be available to students, with each pathway being subject to the individual admission requirements, criteria, and policies as stipulated by each respective university.
Students must undertake their application process with a recognition that each university conducts its admission procedures autonomously, operating under its unique set of policies, requirements, and criteria for admission, over which the LIBT has no control or influence. Consequently, the LIBT cannot offer any guarantees, assurances, or warranties regarding the success of students’ applications for progression to Degree or Master’s level programmes.
Given these conditions, students are advised to proceed with their applications diligently, cautiously, and with moderated expectations, acknowledging that their successful progression to further academic pursuits is subject to the admission policies and decisions of the universities, which exercise their discretion independently.
LIBT shall not, under any circumstances, bear responsibility or liability for the outcomes of students’ applications or for the admission decisions made by universities in regard to student progression. This disclaimer is issued for the purpose of clarity and understanding, and students are strongly advised to take heed of its contents as they navigate their academic journey with the LIBT.
