This unit aims to provide leaders with the skills and knowledge to succeed in strategic management and decision making in complex business environments. It covers the role of leadership in strategic management, the complexities of the strategic leadership role, and behaviours and skills that enhance professional practice. It also covers collaborative and partnership arrangements, their value and scope, and how organisational and legal frameworks impact their delivery. The course covers effective ways to lead and develop people, exploring leadership theories, culture, wellbeing, development, policy, and strategy. It also focuses on personal and professional development, including the interrelationship between skills and mindset, and how to reflect on and develop one's own competencies and behaviours as a strategic leader.
