Dr. Johan Van Rooyen, born on July 12, 1964, is a highly accomplished academic and financial consultant. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Economics from Edinburgh University (2009), an MBA in Economics from Harvard University (2006), a B.Sc. in Engineering, and a BA in Human Resources from the University of Pretoria. His diverse qualifications also include diplomas in English Language Literature, Psychology, Sustainable Development, and Behavioral Finance.

Dr. Van Rooyen's career spans several prestigious roles across academia and consultancy. He is currently an adjunct professor at Webster University, IPE Paris, and the Bangkok School of Management. His teaching repertoire includes undergraduate and MBA courses in accounting, micro and macroeconomics, personal finance, international trade, finance, project management, and managerial economics.

From 2013 to 2015, Dr. Van Rooyen was the owner of Loma Academy, where he focused on English training and developing training manuals, working closely with the Thai government on ASEAN development projects. Prior to this, he was an economic and English specialist at Maejo University, where he was the first full-time economics lecturer in the institution's history.

His international experience is extensive, having served as the Head of the Foreign Department at Suzhou University in China from 2003 to 2012. In this role, he lectured on a variety of subjects, including macro and microeconomics, finance, commercial law, logistics, international trade, and strategy. Before moving into academia, Dr. Van Rooyen worked with the South African Government in the presidential offices as an international trade relations adviser from 1985 to 2003.

Dr. Van Rooyen is also a prolific author, with books such as "Strategic Management: A New Beginning" and "Chinese Culture for Foreigners." His research publications include works on financial literacy in Thai secondary schools and interdisciplinary management in small-scale farming.
