Prof. Suejit Pechprasarn

Biography

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suejit Pechprasarn, born on February 15, 1985, is a distinguished scholar and researcher in the domains of nanophotonics, biomedical engineering, and artificial intelligence. He serves as an Associate Professor and Associate Dean Emeritus at the College of Biomedical Engineering, Rangsit University, Thailand, and as an Assistant Professor at the Nanophotonics Research Centre, Shenzhen University, China.

Dr. Pechprasarn's academic journey began with a BEng in Electrical Engineering from Thammasat University, Thailand, followed by a BEng in Electronic and Computer Engineering with First Class Honors from the University of Nottingham, UK. He then pursued a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Nottingham, where his thesis focused on the "Analysis of Sensitivity and Resolution in Plasmonic Microscopes."

Throughout his career, Dr. Pechprasarn has held several prestigious positions, including Senior Research Fellow at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Research Fellow at the Institute of Biophysics, Imaging and Optical Sciences (IBIOS), University of Nottingham. His teaching experience spans multiple institutions, where he has taught courses in microcontrollers, biosensors, artificial intelligence, and optical communications.

Dr. Pechprasarn's research interests include optical microscopy, biosensors, 3D imaging, biomedical optics, nanophotonics, and the development of software for electromagnetic modeling. He has published numerous research articles and book chapters and holds 19 patents in Thailand. His work has received significant recognition, including the Invention Award from the National Research Council of Thailand and the Best Paper Award at the Photoptics 2020 conference.
